Thanksgiving at Uplifting Deals

There’s a chill in the air, piles of leaves dotting lawns, and the scent of pumpkin spice drifts across most rooms we enter. That can only mean Thanksgiving! We’re looking forward to family and friends flocking together to enjoy a special dinner, play games, do a little shopping, and watch a LOT of football. And Uplifting Deals is here to support your gathering all week long with this Essential Assist for the Holidays. Enjoy!!

Got Guests?

Before your guests arrive, do a quick check of your sheets. If any need replacement (or if you need to turn the couch or air mattress into a comfy guest bed), come on down and grab some sheets. We have high quality cotton sheets ready to keep all those extra relatives cozy!

Fun Activities

Even though we might like to, we can’t watch football all weekend long. On that final shopping trip before Thanksgiving, pick up a deck of UNO for the kids. Or, on your way home from the Black Friday sales, drop by and grab a roll of wrapping paper to get a headstart on the holiday preparations!

And, Of Course, the Food

For all of those guests, you’ll need some good eats! Stock up on chips and grab some Ro-tel to make queso dip. Stock up the freezer with some of our yummy appetizers like Totino’s frozen pizzas, easily sliced into squares for fun pizza bites. One of our favorites is the Asian Pork Dumplings, found in a 2.5lb size clear plastic bag. These yummy hors d’oerves feed a crowd, and the asian flavors are a welcome change from usual holiday fare. Enjoy this yummy dip with these dumplings and fresh veggie slices.

Asian Barbeque Dip

2 tablespoons barbeque sauce of your choosing

4 tablespoons soy sauce

2 teaspoons mayonaise

Whisk all ingredients together until smooth.

You know we wouldn’t leave you hanging without something special for the big feast! Uplifting Deals has some great prices on groceries to supplement your Thanksgiving table. And we decided that our traditional stuffing needed a luxurious twist.

Luxury Stuffing on a Budget

1 package Pepperidge Farm Cornbread Stuffing

1 large onion, chopped

4 stalks celery, chopped

8 tablespoons (1 stick) butter, divided

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon rubbed sage

3 cups chicken broth

1 package Hillshire Farms Kielbasa, cubed

1 can whole kernel corn, drained

Melt 4 tablespoons butter in a four-quart saucepan over medium-high heat. Add onion and celery and fry until the onion is translucent. Add sausage and combine, frying until warmed through. Add chicken broth and corn, and bring to a boil. Remove from the heat and add the stuffing, mixing lightly until combined and all the broth has been absorbed. Put in a greased casserole. Melt remainder of the butter and drizzle over the top. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

It’s a day of thanks and gratitude and we’re so thankful to you – our faithful customers, for visiting us week after week to enjoy our great prices and friendly faces.
